Rural Revitalization Strategy

Overview

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is developing a Rural Revitalization Strategy to support locally led economic development, strengthen regional economies, and help communities build on their unique strengths and opportunities.

The Strategy will be developed through a region-by-region approach, beginning with public engagement activities throughout the province.

We are seeking your input on:

  • A shared vision for rural revitalization in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • The opportunities and challenges facing rural regions;
  • Ways to strengthen regional economic development and local leadership;
  • Priorities and actions to support rural communities and economies; and
  • Measures of success for healthy and prosperous rural regions.

We invite the public, industry stakeholders, local leaders, Indigenous Governments and Organizations, businesses, and community organizations to participate in this process. By sharing your ideas, experiences, and perspectives, you can help shape a strategy that reflects the needs, strengths, and opportunities of rural communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
