Forest Management Planning Process

As part of the sustainable forest management planning process, the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources consults the public and develops draft forest management plans with input from individuals and organizations interested in, or affected by, forest management activities in their areas. The Department is currently undertaking forest management planning in Zone 6 (Districts 14 and 15) for the 2019-2023 planning cycle.  Zone 6 includes a large portion of the south and west coast of the Island of Newfoundland and includes the municipalities of Deer Lake, Pasadena, Corner Brook, Stephenville, Burgeo, Port aux Basques and surrounding areas.

We Want to Hear from You

To inform the development of the Zone 6 Five-Year Forest Operating Plan, the Department is seeking input from stakeholders in the area. Feedback can be provided at public consultation sessions, in writing or in-person by appointment.
