Forest Management Planning Process

As part of the sustainable forest management planning process, the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources consults the public and develops draft forest management plans with input from individuals and organizations interested in, or affected by, forest management activities in their areas. The department is currently undertaking forest management planning in District 20 for the 2019-2023 planning cycle. Forest Management District 20 (Sandwich Bay) consists of 2.2 million hectares of boreal forest on the south coast of Labrador.

We Want to Hear from You

To inform the development of the District 20 Five-Year Forest Operating Plan, the department is seeking input from stakeholders in the area. Feedback can be provided at public consultation sessions, in writing, or in-person by appointment. 

Please provide feedback no later than Friday, June 14, 2019.
