From March 5-27, 2019, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment held public consultations on whether a distribution ban is the best approach to reduce plastic retail bags; and the factors to consider if a ban is implemented.
A total of 2,845 questionnaires were completed through the EngageNL forum (www.engagenl.ca/). Additionally the Department received over 120 written submissions directly through mail or email. Thank you to each person and organization who participated!
