A Home for Nature: Protected Areas Plan for the Island of Newfoundland Online Feedback Form

The Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Advisory Council (WERAC) is a volunteer, independent council appointed by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to provide advice on the establishment and management of wilderness and ecological reserves in the province.

The Council is reaching out to the public to get their input on the document A Home for Nature: Protected Areas Plan for the Island of Newfoundland. Click here to view the document online or if you wish to receive a printed copy please emailĀ werac@gov.nl.ca.

The following questions are the first step in moving ahead with the conversation about establishing more protected areas in the province. Following initial public input on the Plan, WERAC will make a recommendation to government on future steps.

If WERAC is directed to proceed with establishments, a public consultation will follow for each area. At that time, additional input will be sought from the public on each proposed boundary, permitted activities and management plan for the site.

Please note you are required to log in or register in order to complete this feedback form.
